The choir « Les Mélodistes de Brossard », that was founded in 1969 in Québec province in Canada, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019.
In addition to that, its choirmaster, Mrs Marlene ARSENEAULT GAUDET, celebrated the 25th year of direction of the choir in 2018.
Under the direction of Mrs Marlene ARSENEAULT GAUDET, les Mélodistes, a choir composed of adults, interpret a quite varied repertoire, sung in polyphony. The main aims of the choir are to entertain their audiences and to make people familiar with musical art, but also to perform for the various charities.
The repertoire of the choir is composed of popular songs, folk-melodies from Québec and from elsewhere, operetta or musical excerpts, classical and Middle Age pieces. All these pieces are performed in different languages : French, English, Spanish, Latin, Italian, Slavonic, and sometimes even in onomatopoeia. The pieces of the artisits from Québec occupy a place of honour though…
The choir «Les Mélodistes de Brossard » enjoys an established reputation that allows the group to be the official accompanying choirof multiple concerts of the Symphony Orchestra of Longueuil. The choir has also accompanied renowned artists of the opera, such as Larie-Josée Lord, marc Hervieux, Giorgia Fumanti and Nathalie Choquette.
