The Guingoïlhet Vocal Ensemble
Galtier Raymond, 68 years old, started music at the age of 7, first on the violin then on the clarinet and saxophone within the Bédaricienne harmony and until his entry into the military music of first in Marseille then in Béziers for two years as a manager of the hip desk and head coach of the ensemble.
At the same time he was part of several choirs and then a traditional vocal ensemble, within the Ballets Trencavels de Béziers, under the direction of Françoise Dague (creator of the Ballets Occitans de Toulouse) until the dissolution of the Ballets Trencavels in 1972 He then became choreographer of several Héraultais folk groups within which he each time created a singing section.
In 1983 he created the traditional group Guingoï from which emerged, in 2010, the vocal ensemble “Guingoïlhet.
He performs traditional polyphonic songs, secular or religious, mainly in the Occitan language. The creation of this entity which intervenes beyond the accompaniment of the dances of the group “Guingoï”, allows us to better participate in the safeguarding and promotion of the Languedoc melodies which have been transmitted to us. The group organizes and performs in various concerts on the occasion of Music Days, Heritage Days, at Christmas periods and during Guingoï Group performances in France and abroad. In 2019 the vocal ensemble participated in the choral singing competition “The Singing World” in Saint Petersburg.
