Vocal group The Hummingbird (Kolibri)

Vocal group The Hummingbird (Kolibri) is from Riga, Latvia. It contains eight young and highly motivated singers aged between 17 and 19, who have been singing together since they were little. In the past three years the group have been more and more interested in a cappella music and are inspired by various vocal groups such as “Cosmoss” and “Latvian Voices” from Latvia, as well as world renowned ensembles like “Voces8” and “The Real Group”.

For the last two years they have participated in national competitions  in Latvia and have proven themselves to be among the best Latvian vocal ensembles in our age group. Last year the group participated in their first international competition “We are singing Adriatic” in Opatia, Croatia, where they received two gold diplomas and the competitions Grand Prix.

Agnese Malnača, Vocal Coach 

Agnese Malnača is a long- serving vocal coach and teacher of the children’s and youth vocal group The Hummingbird. She began her music studies at the National School of Arts, Riga Cathedral Choir School and has been trained as a classical singer. Currently she is working at multiple different children’s and youth projects as musical and stage director. Since 2021 Agnese Malnača is working at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet as assistant stage director.
