Millevoci Choir – Italy
The Giuseppe International Academy of Organ and Early Music Gherardeschi di Pistoia and Il Rossignolo, created at the end of 2022 the Youth Choir and the “MilleVoci” Choral School, with the aim of offering boys and girls music studies. general musical culture and technical vocal and choral training.
The choristers are trained and educated to perform the vocal parts intended for them and which were heard in the literature of the 17th, 18th and up to the mid-19th century.
The children of the choir can thus come into contact with one of the most beautiful and poetic repertoires in the entire history of music and perform it – also included in the concert program of the Academy and its group resident, Il Rossignolo – with the other students of the Academy and internationally renowned artists in the musical field.
Although it has only been formed for a year, the MilleVoci Choir has already performed in various concerts during which it explored didactic monodic and polyphonic singing, as well as a well-known repertoire, with pieces by Monteverdi, Händel , Bach, Mendelssohn, Reger.
Following the principle “from children to children” during all the first concerts of the Millevoci Choir – (which is also supported by the Tesi Group Foundation of Pistoia) – funds were collected which were entirely intended for the structures that work in the field of reception and support for children and young people suffering from pathologies.
The conductors, director and trainer of the Choir are Marta Corti and Benedetta Corti.
