Choir La Chanson de Gaillard

La Chanson de Gaillard is a mixed choir launched in 2007 by its choirmaster Yves Roure is composed of 59 choristers.

Its repertoire is mainly dedicated to and composed of the variety French songs, with the songs of some famous authors like : Ferrat, Piaf, Halliday, Aznavour, Bécaud, Berger, Lama, Polnareff, Bruni,Calogero, Ferrat, Gainsbourg, Fersen… but the choir also includes music and melodies from other musical universes : English, Russian…or songs from Provence.

La Chanson de Gaillard has performed at several events in Annemasse and its surroundings and in Switzerland (Geneva : the Fête de la Musique, Victoria Hall, the Festival de la Batie, The Concert de l’Escalade, the Modern songs Festival in Moudon, etc…) and at two concerts in Russia (St Petersbourg 2015). One must not forget of course Marseille in 2017 and Aveyron in 2018.

The choirmaster Yves Roure

Yves Roure was born in Marseille, France, Aquarius, as Mozart, Vivaldi, Schubert…and Darwin…the choirmaster of « La Chanson de Gaillard » has started to practice the choral singing with passion at the age of 8… and the practice of the choral art still goes on…

Yves Roure has studied piano and organ playing as well as singing, but also theoretic disciplines such as solfeggio, counterpoint, harmony etc. Accomplished musician, he has started his career as a choirmaster around 30 years old…and is still being a choirmaster today…

The years spent a student at the Higher Music Conservatory of Geneva  allowed him to broaden his musical  knowledge and experience, and, in particular, to fully act as a chorister at one of the biggest lyrical scenes of Europe : Grand Theatre in Geneva.

As a strong and vocal advocate for popular songs harmonised for mixed choir (French, Francophone and anglo saxon), he has launched La Chanson de Gaillard in 2007 and its twin sister, La Chanson de Geneve in 2015…and all this is still going on…

He is constantly telling to his choristers , who are all amateurs and are very motivated : Please think about those who listen to you when you sing !

His motto : the musical partition is in the head and not the reverse !
