The Voix de la Comté choir was created in 2002 in a small village in Puy-de-Dôme: Saint-Babel. Very quickly, the enthusiasm was felt and we went up to 67 members.
We have been led for 12 years by Nicolas Ferrandon and our repertoire is made up of French variety songs. Our conductor, also a pianist and drummer, conducts seven other choirs and is at the origin of several jazz rock groups including Les Petits Pois.
Little by little, Nicolas made us evolve, we “dropped” the sheet music book and started to move on stage.
Two years ago, under his leadership, we embarked on the creation of a musical show “Saint-Babel-sur-Mer“. The skills of the singers were put to use. We created the script, the staging and the sets. This year we experienced the culmination of this musical and human adventure, giving two performances in Issoire. More than 1100 spectators came to discover this musical show featuring 40 singers, their leader and 22 French variety songs.
SAINT-BABEL-SUR-MER or how a small Auvergne town will transform, as if by magic, into a seaside village…
