Nishimomiya
The Coro Platano female choir was created in 1976 in Nishimomiya with former students of Imazu Nishimomiya primary school.
Today, the members of this choir celebrate the 44th anniversary of their foundation.
In the meantime, they have welcomed a second generation of singers. Most of the choristers are primary school teachers in the city of Nishimomiya.
Coro Platano’s repertoire consists of Japanese folk songs as well as contemporary, classical and world music.
The Coro Platano participated several times in the International Choral Festival, in 1997, 2006 and 2009 where it was very successful in our region.
The choir, in turn, hosted the choir “Maitrise Gabriel Fauré” from Marseille in Japan twice.
