The Medical University of Gdańsk Choir is the creator of the 75-year tradition of artistic activity for the environment of its Alma Mater, Pomerania region and a wide range of high musical culture lovers from all over the country. The band has performed in over 25 countries around the world and is a proud holder of outstanding awards at prestigious choir festivals and competitions.
Our members are mainly students of the Medical University of Gdańsk, however, we also gather people from outside of this community who have been singing with us for many years. Choir has diverse age profile; therefore, we can proudly claim to connect generations and create unique emotions on the scene.
The artistic director and conductor of the choir is Błażej Połom – the 9th conductor in the history of our Choir.
Błażej Połom, director
Błażej Połom was born on June 11, 1983. In 2007 he graduated with honors from Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. Since 2018 he has been the conductor and artistic director of the Medical University of Gdańsk Choir.
As a conductor, he is successfully leading the Choir during national and international competitions and festivals. One of the most important awards the Choir won under his baton is the Golden Band – won in 2019 for the best performed passion piece. During the same competition – International Passion Song Festival in Szczecin, Błażej Połom was awarded with the prize for the best conductor of the festival.
