KLAIPĖDA UNIVERSITY MIXED CHOIR “PAJŪRIO AIDOS”
Even if the mixed Choir ‘Pajūrio aidos’ of Klaipėda University is still young, it has collective full of enthusiasm and devotion to music.
The choir was established in 2007 by founder and leader prof. Algirdas Šumskis.
From the foundation of the choir, it was able to reach hearts of Lithuanians from the different cities like Nida, Kretinga, Šiauliai, Pagėgiai, Kaunas and Vilnius.
It was participated in Lithuania republic and region ‘Song celebration’, festivals and competitions.
Therefore, the choir did not limit itself with Lithuania bounder as it had participated in the international Baltic festival ‘Gaudeamus’, which is held in Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania.
In 2012 choir with solo program organized concerts in Granada (Spain) and performed by Antonio Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’ with the Granada String Orchestra and soloists.Even now the choir actively participates in various projects and concerts.
The mixed choir’s repertoire, which is broad in terms of music genres, is composed by the foreign and Lithuanian composers from the various epochs.
