Traditional choir “Trepetlika” – city of Burgas, Bulgaria
The choir was founded in 1996.
Its repertoire consists of authentic and performed traditional songs from all folk regions of Bulgaria, mainly Strandja and Thrace.
In 1999, a musical ensemble called “Chareni gaytani” was formed to bring together children from 7 to 10 years old and participate with young and adult singers of the “Trepetlika” choir in competitions and festivals in Bulgaria and Europe.
The first album of Ms. Zaprianova’s repertoire, with popular folk songs from the Strandja mountain region, was published in 2002.
In 2006, a CD was released with songs by Bulgarian composers performed by the “Trepetlika” choir.
From 2006 to the present, the choir “Trepetlika” has several recordings on Bulgarian radio and television, as well as participations in national and international competitions, festivals and holidays.
The “Trepetlika” choir is one of the Bulgarian choirs that have won several prizes in Russia, Italy, Hungary and several European countries.
The choir’s numerous participations in musical events in Bulgaria and abroad make this formation a major player in the Bulgarian musical landscape.
Ms. Pepa Zaprianova has been the director of the choir since its inception, having won several awards and been distinguished as one of the most renowned choir conductors in Bulgaria.

Creator of the “Shareni Gaytani” choral and musical training for children aged 7 to 10.
She studied at one of the best Bulgarian music schools in Varna, where she acquired her basic knowledge and skills in piano and classical singing.
Ms. Zapryanova is a master music pedagogue, graduated from the Academy of Musical and Dance Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Director of the primary school “Elin Pelin” – Burgas since 2019, which she develops as a profiled school in music, artistic activities, foreign languages and modern technologies.
A music teacher and music pedagogue for 28 years, she speaks Italian and Spanish and also uses French in her daily work.
Rewarded on several occasions by the Ministry of Culture and Education for her musical activity, she was honored by the International Organization of La Francophonie for her participation in various French-speaking events.
